About Home Inspection Vault
We make inspection software for independent home inspectors and small inspection firms, built so your clients’ inspection results stay between you and them.
Why we built it
There’s a quiet consolidation happening in home inspection software. Large companies are buying the platforms inspectors rely on every day, and the prize is the data. Every report holds property condition findings, defect details, photos, repair estimates, client contact information and property addresses. Gathered across thousands of inspectors, that data is valuable to insurers, mortgage lenders and home warranty providers.
When a platform keeps reports readable on its servers, your clients’ confidentiality depends on a privacy policy that can change with a single acquisition. Many states require confidentiality between inspectors and their clients as a condition of licensure, and your name is on every report.
We think that’s wrong, so we built Home Inspection Vault differently.
What’s different
Your findings, narratives and photo captions are encrypted on your device before they reach our servers, and we don’t hold the keys to decrypt them. We can see that a report exists, but we can’t read it. So we can’t sell it to insurers, lenders or anyone else, and a future owner of the company would inherit encrypted reports it can’t read either.
We’re also clear about the limits. Photos are stored separately and aren’t end-to-end encrypted. And because we serve the app you use, the protection also depends on nobody changing that app to capture what’s in your browser. Our security page explains both in plain language.
What we believe
- Your reports are yours. As long as you keep your recovery phrase, you hold the key to your own work, for compliance, for E&O defense, or when a past client asks for another copy.
- Confidentiality by design. When your platform can’t read the report, keeping results between you and your client doesn’t rest on a policy alone.
- Honest about the trade-offs. We tell you what is and isn’t protected, including what we can’t rule out.
What we build
One platform for the whole job: scheduling, field capture that works offline, report writing, signed delivery to your client, and invoicing. One plan with everything in it. See plans and billing.
